Today I was very kindly treated to a delightful afternoon, to relax Red Carpet Style for the London Film Festival at one of the most incredible 5 star hotels in London- The May Fair Hotel Spa and oh what a treat it was.
I'm not really a frequent spa visitor, though I have been to the May Fair previously to today and quite honestly it is a luxurious dream. There were an array of treatments of me to choose from today, but I jumped at the opportunity for a full body massage and I am so pleased that I did.
Before my treatment started, I had a little consultation with a therapist who asked all of the usual questions to make sure that my treatment suited me perfectly. The massage was completely tailored to how I wanted it, giving me the opportunity to choose what kind of pressure was applied as well as to what areas to focus more and less on. I wasn't too fussy, as lets face it a massage is heavenly no matter how it's done!
After having a quick little consultation, I was shown around and introduced to the communal areas which I was allowed to enjoy for as long as I liked before and after my treatment. This included the Aromatic Steam Room, Herbal Sauna, Experience Showers which are incredible and the Relaxation Room which is so tranquil and has a beautiful selection of refreshments for you to choose from.
The minute my treatment was booked to start, the therapist came to the Relaxation Room to find me of course drinking a cup of tea and led me to the treatment room. I can't even begin to explain how relaxing my massage was, other than the fact that afterwards I felt like I was floating. I suffer with quite bad tension in my upper back and the therapist did her utter upmost to relieve it as much as possible and right now, head to toe feels an absolutely amazing. The massage lasted for around an hour and although if I had my way I would have stayed there all night, it was long enough to be left feeling relaxed and completely tension free.
After my treatment, I had a few moments in the Experience Showers which I love and then made my way back to the very lovely changing rooms to get ready for real life again. I of course made use of all the goodies in there, which I was pleased to see included ghds as I was heading out for dinner afterwards and wasn't really looking my best!
My visit this time was a really special treat, although last time I went along with my boyfriend and I really do recommend it for both occasions.
