Philips SatinSoft Epilator*
We haven't had the best Summer this year, but seeing as here in the UK we are expected to have a lovely weekend full of sunshine, I thought it would be the perfect time to share these Philips products with you that have helped me to get Summer ready.
When it comes to hair removal, although it isn't the most comfortable thing ever nothing really scares me. I was once put off Epilators from horror stories of pain and uncomfortable times, but faced my fears and tried it for the first time a few years ago. Up until now, I have been using a Braun Epilator and although I have never had any problems with it, after using this I have come to realise that they have come very far and the SatinSoft Epilator* is so very comfortable to use and a lot handier in the fact that it can be used on both wet and dry skin, so it's perfect for using in the shower. It is also a lot more convenient than ones I have used in the past with the compact sizing and the charging function- allowing it to be used with and without a lead.
For those of you that aren't familiar with epliating as a hair removal option, it is almost like an electrical shaver though rather than just taking hair from the skins surface, it uses a plucking function where the tweezing disc pulls the hairs out. The SatinSoft Epilator is quite gentle on your skin and so pulls the hair out without pulling at your skin, at which ever speed setting you choose.
This sounds all pretty painful and I will be honest, it isn't for everyone. You definitely get used to the feeling and after the first go you can't even feel it (okay, you can, but it's a lot easier!). I only really epilate my legs, rather than more sensitive areas as although I am quite brave when it comes to this feeling, I'm not that brave and would rather use pain free options, more often for those delicate areas.
This product comes with a four changeable caps, a storage bag and a really nice exfoliation brush which I think is a lovely practical touch and is available on the Philips website for £66.55
Philips Body Bikini Perfect Perfect Personal Grooming Set*
Okay, so for them more private, delicate areas Philips have the perfect tool- the Philips Personal Grooming Set*. If you're unsure what I'm talking about when I say private, delicate areas I am in actual fact talking about the bikini area.
This hair removal tool has six different styling options to cater to every need; a standard gentle trimming cap, a hygienic trimming comb, a smooth shaver, an eyebrow and detail trimmer (not so private and delicate), a tiny epliator to remove the hair for weeks as well as shaping stencils for the more creative including a crown, a heart, a butterfly, an arrow (erm) and a standard Brazilian.
I'm quite happy to talk about most things on the internet, but I'm not really so keen on discussing my bikini area. (eek!) I will however say that this is a super handy product in that like the SatinSoft Epilator, it's rechargeable and can also be used on both wet and dry skin and with the chargeable function, this can also be used in the shower. The charge holds for an hour, which is perfect especially if you're looking for something to take on holiday to keep you neat.
I'm yet to try the epilator function on this, as like I said above, I'm happy to stick to the less long-lasting, pain free options for now. However, if you're comfortable with doing so, it's a super tiny epilating cap and I can imagine it would work perfectly.
I have tried many electrical lady shavers in the past but kind of just moved away from them without even knowing. I really do like this though, it's very versatile and really does give great precision and I haven't experienced any irritation in the slightest with it.
It's a really tiny, pretty looking product and is available for a reasonable £40.99 on the Philips website.
Have you tried either of these products? Are they something you would be interested in to get hair free?
