SKYN Iceland

Last month I went along to The Metropolitan Hotel for newly launched into the UK brand SKYN Iceland. It's a skin care brand that works to combat the effects of stressed skin, which can be the underline issue for so many skin conditions and concerns.

We were taken through all of the products in the line and I was really impressed at what Sarah, the creator of the brand had created in the range, all stemming from her personal experience of becoming critically ill, which was down to stress brought to her from her busy lifestyle.

Whilst Sarah took a break from her 20 year career in beauty to recover, she travelled to Iceland where she discovered peaceful scenes, and pure, unspoilt waters and air. It was from all of the purity and tranquil conditions that she experienced in Iceland that she grew inspiration for her own brand and started to work on products full of therapeutic glacial waters, nurturing minerals and elements from Icelands volcanic rock, which have been proven to treat many conditions such as Psoriasis, Eczema, rashes and skin irritations.
As well as the natural minerals and elements that Sarah wanted to include in her products, she also sourced super potent botanicals and oils, all of which have antioxidants, inflammatories and healing properties that for stressed skin, her main concern, would protect, treat and replenish the skin perfectly.

Sarah prides herself on the fact that her products have been back and forth from development labs so many times, in order to get them absolutely perfect. She has really created some fabulous products, all of which have great properties and textures.

I don't really suffer with any major skin conditions or break outs, although I would call my skin tired. I don't have a great sleeping pattern and in terms of this range I would say that's what I would need to combat the most, most importantly my under eye area. A product that I have been reaching for when my under eye area needs a boost is the Icelandic Relief Eye Pen with Biospheric Complex. It's so cooling and although I don't find it takes away my dark circles (I think they're around for good) I do find it reduces any puffiness substantially and it's a great product to carry around with me for a little eye relief throughout the day.

There are products throughout the line to help to combat breakouts, blemishes, dehydration and age concerns including a couple of celebrity favourites; the Cool Firming Eye Gels and the Nordic Skin Peel.

These products are new to the UK and are exclusive to Marks and Spencer. I had a look in the M&S Beauty Hall on Oxford St and the range seemed to be going down a treat.
